Study Areas

Studying in the Connection Loungs When you need a quiet space to concentrate, head for the second floor. The entire floor is now reserved for silent study, free from the distractions of service desks, study groups, and cell phone conversations. You'll find a peaceful oasis with tables, study carrels, and even a few enclosed bubble-top carrels with electrical outlets scattered throughout the floor

Got a group project, or feel more comfortable in a livelier atmosphere? Come to the fourth and third floors, where you'll find plenty of space to spread out and talk . Choose from large tables, study carrels, and even a few comfortable couches and chairs. Self-serve copy machines are available for your convenience.

And don't forget about the Library Connection Lounges. Sit back and relax with a current best-seller or settle in with your laptop for an IM to your friends.

Locked study carrels can be rented by faculty, doctoral students, and other graduate students who are working on dissertations or engaged in other research. Applications are available in the Library Administration Office, RT 501. The annual rental fee is $30 payable in advance. An initial deposit of $10 is required and refundable upon return of the key. For further information about study carrels, see Library Carrels & Carrel Use or contact Barbara Florjancic at (216) 687-2475.
