Urban Landscapes: Sacred and Transient, through October, 2001. Plain Dealer photographer Michael Levey's beautiful collection of images of Jewish Sacred Landmarks in an urban setting is currently on display in the Special Collections Gallery until October. It is the companion exhibit to a concurrent exhibit of Mr. Levy's works being hosted in the Urban College's Thomas F. Campbell Gallery.

In the Main Exhibition Gallery:

• Defying Destruction: An Exhibition of Images from the Thomas L. Lewis Photography Collection and the Sacred Landmarks Archives, October 15, 1999 until April 10, 2000. Sacred Landmarks Archives photographs by the late Professor Thomas Lewis show the need to preserve historic sacred landmarks. Thanks to Dr. Michael Tevesz for his idea and help.

• Sifting the Sands of Time: Building the Terminal Tower Reveals Cleveland's Past, April 17, 2000 until October 20, 2000. The core samples drilled for the foundations of the Terminal Tower are now being analyzed by a team of geologists. Thanks to Dr. Michael Tevesz for this exhibit, as well.

• Greetings from Cleveland, October 27, 2000 until April 13, 2001. Professor Walter Leedy's wonderful collection of historic Cleveland postcards was drawn upon for a exhibit at the Cleveland Museum of Art several years ago and he allowed us to hang twelve of the original CMA panels -- some 8,000 postcards -- in Special Collections.

• Victorian Yellowbacks & Paperbacks October 15, 1999 until April 10, 2000. A display of Professor Chester Topp's research and publications on these nineteenth century serials.
