Other depts. using T.A.s as instructors should submit proposals for GC's approval. 12/10/91 Capped FY 1992 spending at $2000 beyond present committments. 6/8/93 Dr. Bailey asked to review discrepancies regarding assistantship regulations in the University Handbook and Graduate Assistant Policy brochure. 11/26/96 Approved proposal calling for a 2.5 Law GPA and a 3.0 graduate GPA as appropriate minimum eligibilty requirements fora full-time degree-seeking students to hold a graduate assistantship. 1/14/97 Approved that under the new semester system graduate assistants must register for 9-12 hrs. as determined by the individual graduate program directors. 12/2/97 Approved that regular graduate students not holding assistantships, or graduate tutition recipients who provide a maximum 9 hr./wk of service, may be considered to be registered full-time if they take 8 or more graduate credit hr. per term. 3/10/98 Approved minimum registration requirement of 9 semester hours per term for graduate assistants and graduate tuition grant recipients who are required to provide 10 hr./wk. to the University. 3/10/98 Reaffirmed its 12/2/97 action that regular graduate students not holding assistantships, or graduate tutition recipients who provide a maximum 9 hr./wk of service, may be considered to be registered full- time if they take at least 8 graduate credit hr. per term. 2/2/99 Decided not to raise minimum registration for graduate assistants to 12 hours. 2/16/99 reaffirmed the minimum registration requirement for graduate assistants, which allows graduate assistants to enroll for 9 or 12 hours depending on departmental choice.
