TEXT DOCUMENTS (PDF)
Text documents in the Electronic Course Reserve System are in Portable Document Format (.pdf). These files may be viewed using the free Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is loaded on all PCs in the Library, and most of the PCs in the computing labs on campus.
Downloading Adobe Acrobat Reader
If you are using Electronic Course Reserves from off campus and you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer, go to the Adobe Web site and load the software. If you have problems installing the program, go to the Adobe Reader Support page.
Configuring Acrobat Reader to Work with Your Browser
Navigating Within a PDF Document
Now that you have Adobe Acrobat Reader configured to open in your browser, when you click on link in ECR to a document file, the file will open up within you browser with Acrobat Reader toolbars and navigation controls.
Printing a PDF Document
Printing a PDF Document is pretty simple. Click the Print button
, or choose File > Print from the menu at the top of the window.

AUDIO FILES (RM)
Audio files are in RealMedia format (.rm) and need the free RealPlayer to work . You may listen to audio reserves in the Library by using headphones. The Library has a limited supply of headphones available to CSU students and can be checked out for use in the Library with a valid CSU ID. Headphones are available at both the 1st and 3rd floor service desks.
If you are using a machine off campus that doesn’t already have RealPlayer loaded, you may download it directly from their website.

Playing ECR Audio Files Using RealPlayer
Click on "Click to play audio". The RealPlayer console will appear and RealPlayer should start automatically and begin playing your selection. To adjust the volume, move the scrollbar on the console to the left to lower or to the right to raise.
Audio files MAY NOT be downloaded and saved to CD or other media. The information stored in the ECR database is protected under the Copyright Laws of the United States (Title 17 U.S. Code) governing the making of copies of copyrighted material. While the provisions of fair use apply, the person using the system is liable for any infringement of copyright violation.
