Faculty may place library or personal materials on reserve for use by their classes. Books are housed at the User Services Center on the first floor. Selected materials for music classes and most multimedia items are located at the Multimedia Services Desk on the third floor (RT 301).
The faculty member may choose how long the reserve material may be used. Some items circulate for two hours and may not be taken out of the Library. Others may circulate for one, three or seven days. Students must have their VikingCard to obtain print materials that are on reserve.
For further information on first floor reserve, contact (216) 687-2478, or for third floor reserve, contact (216) 687-9337 or go to the Course Reserves Web site.
Electronic Course Reserve (ECR) makes reserve materials accessible any time from computers with Internet access. For further information, view the Library's Course Reserve page or call (216) 687-6954.
Audio Course Reserves for musical selections, language tapes, and other sound recordings for course work are also available directly from the Library's ECR system. RealPlayer version 10 (or higher) is required to play audio reserve material and is on all PCs in the Library. Headphones can be checked out for use in the Library at the 1st and 3rd floor services desks. Instructions for free downloads for RealPlayer for use at home or on a laptop can be found at ECR: What You Need to Make Them Work.
