  • Special Collections is a research facility containing collections covering topics within the field of Cleveland history and a few that cover non-Cleveland topics.
  • The repository for the Cleveland Press Archives and the Cleveland Union Terminal Collection, Special Collections is open to the CSU community as well as to scholars and visitors from around the world.
  • The Cleveland Memory Project is an online showcase for Special Collections.

The Microforms Collection

What You Need to Know:

  • The Microforms Collection includes recent editions of newspapers and other titles including ERIC Documents that are available in microfilm or microfiche format.
  • Mircofilm for local newspapers, such as the Plain Dealer and the Press, along with other local history microforms can be found nearby in Special Collections (RT 321).
  • The area also includes microfilm and microfiche reader/printers as well as digital microfilm scanners that allow saving pages to a disc or USB storage device to print later.

The Viewing Room

  • This state-of-the-art film and video Viewing Room in RT 325 seats up to 24 people.
  • Classes as well as other University groups can be scheduled to use the room where they can view programs in cinema-like surroundings.

  • The Curriculum Materials collection, inside Multimedia services (RT 301), includes juvenile books, curriculum guides, a-v, puppets, flash cards, kits, and other resources for K-12 teaching and teacher education.
  • The entire collection is searchable through the Scholar Online catalog.
  • The area includes a convenient meeting/study area with tables, chairs and outlets for laptops.
